Based in Wheldrake, York, David is a keen photographer who happens to have Down’s Syndrome. He has a passion for wildlife and wild places and this, combined with his keen observational skills, leads him to capture spontaneous moments full of atmosphere and vitality. His aim, he says, ‘is to make people happy when they look at my pictures’

David won the National Down’s Syndrome Association’s ‘My Perspective’ competition in 2015 with his picture ‘Misty Minster’ and has recently come 2nd in their new film category with a short film entitled ‘David Goes Wild’. He has hosted and co-hosted his own photographic exhibitions in York and Pocklington and has six of his pictures on permanent display in York District Hospital. He has also seen his work exhibited in Manchester, London and even New York! You may also recognise David from a TV advertising campaign for Expedia in which he travelled to Iceland to photograph the Northern Lights.
